Peter Damon-Cronmiller is an emerging composer and musicologist based in London. He holds master’s degrees with distinction in both Composition and Musicology from the Royal Northern College of Music and from King's College, London, respectively. His music has been performed throughout Europe and America by musicians such as the Mivos Quartet, the Manchester Contemporary Orchestra, performers at the Mostly Modern Festival and EMERGE New Music Concerts, and has been workshopped by ensembles including the BBC Singers and the King’s College, London Symphony Orchestra. His research explores how the musical mimesis of early recordings and Ancient Greek poetic topoi can be applied to the synchronic dimension of New Complexity in compositional practice. While his scholarly work is primarily situated within artistic practice-as-research, it draws upon the fields of musical signification, historical performance practices, aesthetics, and musico-literary studies.
